Shelby Leiding
Shelby is a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists and holds a Master of Counselling Psychology. She specializes in working with children and youth with a variety of mental health and behavioral challenges. Shelby has experience working in community-based practices and intensive treatment settings. She works from a strengths-based lens supported by the expressive arts and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. As an adjunct to her clinical work, Shelby teaches child and adolescent counselling at a master’s level.
Shelby is trained in formal assessment, including parenting capacity assessment and psycho-educational and psychological assessments for young people ranging from preschool through early adulthood. Shelby is skilled in assessing for various referral concerns including ADHD, Learning Disorders, Intellectual Disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and complex emotional and behavioral challenges. Shelby’s assessments are considerate of the whole young person and focus on improving understanding and providing meaningful recommendations.
